KEPONG BOTANICAL GARDENS

(GENIUS LOCI)

SITE ANALYSIS, SITE RESPONSE AND DESIGN CONCEPT

In this Project 2A group assignment, we are tasked and separated into groups of numerous members, and conduct a site visit at Kepong Botanical Gardens where it is flourished with vegetations. Over there, we are tasked to document, interpret and analyze the physical conditions of the site and genius loci of the place, and generate design based on the cultural aspect of the locals, activities, history and their natural surroundings.
After the site visit, the final outcome should consist several site response diagrams to be composed into presentation boards, a video about the site's history, and a 3D built scaled model.

Reflection

Throughout this project, it was a fun experience to join together with the whole class on this trip physically, to perform expeditions on the site, and socially interact with the local residents and visitors of the park to understand their daily activities and response towards the current state of Kepong Botanical Gardens.
