PROJECT 2: TECTONICS

Design Principles, Anthropometric and Ergonomic Exploration – Isolation Structure

In this Project 2 individual assignment, I am tasked to learn the human anthropometrics and ergonomics, and interpret them into a 5m³ self-isolation tectonic structure built with a different variety of materials provided like timber, concrete, steel and tensile fabric.

Reflection

Throughout this project, I was able to understand the human anthropometrics and ergonomics and create architectural design models based on those human factors and banal actions, together with my inspiration from one of my draft models of Project 1. I have also tested the properties and constructability of preferred materials for my tectonic structure, and learned how to draw out plans, sections, elevations and axonometric drawings with precise measurement and deduction.
